William Floyd
Senior Vice President, Strategy & Communications
Data acquisition, AI & GIS mapping
William H. Floyd IV is Senior Vice President of Strategy & Communications at Vista Site Selection, where his work connects geography, data, AI, and creative communication. He develops maps, dashboards, research workflows, and digital tools that help clients and colleagues understand markets and evaluate location decisions.
William’s commercial real estate background includes CBRE and Streetwise Retail. At Vista, he brings that experience to questions involving workforce, demographics, market conditions, and geographic relationships. He enjoys digging into complicated information, understanding what it says, and finding a clear, visually engaging way to communicate it. His cartographic work has been published in Area Development, including five maps examining aerospace employment, workforce depth, wages, and industrial electricity prices.
A hands-on AI practitioner, William applies and experiments with tools across research, coding, data analysis, marketing, video production, web design, and 3D modeling in Blender. He also delivers AI keynotes and workshops, including engagements with Grow Choctaw and Select Oklahoma, helping audiences turn curiosity into practical work through better questions, structured workflows, and verification.
William earned his B.S. in Physical Geography from Texas State University. Around the office, he answers to Zig, Don Memo, Lord of the Map, and the Map Daddy of Site Selection. His enthusiasm for turning spreadsheets into maps has become sufficiently well documented that it now has its own name: Zig’s Law of Maps.
